| Outward Appearance | Chronicler stands out from his stature, which towers above that of almost all Bree-folk; because of this many believe that he hails from a different group of Men, though no one knows which. He has long black hair and slightly tanned skin as a token of his time spent travelling. In towns, he wears simple grey robes but is often seen garbed in more protective clothes of the same shades when he is met on the road or within a ruin. |

Background
Chronicler is the name given to the mysterious wandering scholar by the inhabitants of Bree and the surrounding lands. Few know what his true name is, with some claiming it is Tim, some Tyler and some a wholly different name beginning with the letter 'T.' The scholar does not seem to mind being simply referred to as Chronicler and is most commonly addressed as such by those who recognize him.
On the occasions he is in a town or an inn, Chronicler is often seen entertaining those who are interested in the history of the world or those who enjoy listening to stories of the past. He tells tales of times when much of Eriador was unified under a great North-kingdom, when the ruins that dot the landscape today were majestic cities and proud castles, and when heroes of old from Knights of Men to Elf Lords and Dwarven Kings and even brave hobbits stood against the evil of an ancient Enemy.
It is from these tales that Chronicler receives his name. Many of the Bree-folk dismiss him as a teller of legends and children's stories, though Chronicler has been spotted in the company of travelling Elves or the strange Men known only as Rangers, both of whom tend to hold lengthy discussions with the supposed historian.
