Background
Laerenis, originally from the Woodland Realm (Mirkwood), born only a few hundred years ago near the Halls of Thranduil, the Elven King. But though the stone halls of the Elven King were near enough, she was raised in a small community deep within the woods nearby, not within the halls. She is an archivist's assistant and researcher, though there is little about her that is bookish or stoic—she is kind, optimistic, and gentle, quick to laugh and slow to anger.
She calls Mithlond her home, but lives often among the Dunedin Rangers in Evendim, near the ruins of Annúminas, observing their ways, and making records of their spoken lore and folktales for her own academic work.

Laerenis works in the esteemed Grey Havens Historic Records building in Mithlond, as a remote research assistant to Isilimë, the Lore-Mistress of Tham Angol in Rivendell, where Laerenis has recently come to stay for the winter. And with her came a great number of new documents and manuscripts, items to be preserved or restored, and donated ephemera to the Library and Archive housed within the House of Lore.
She speaks fluently in Westron, Sindarin and Nandorin - while she can understand spoken Quenya, she is a bit shy at the idea of speaking it, and will seldom engage in that language except to quote literature or poetry.
Laerenis greatly enjoys cooking and celebrations, poetry and song, learning and art, the outdoors, and making friends.
| Loves | Watching ships in the harbor, leaves falling on rippled stream eddies, folktales from around the world, wood-elven recipe trades, trying on fashionable gowns from foreign lands at the Mithlond textile houses, the sound of rain on slate rooftiles |
|---|---|
| Hates | The fact that catfish get the size of a grown, well-built elf if left to lurk patiently in the rivers. Also prickly bushes and anything that feels "chalky" - even the word itself. |
| Motivation | Laerenis is currently in Mithlond presenting the results of her decades-long research of the unique customs of the secretive Dunedain "rangers" of Evendim to be judged worthy to be known as Master Historian and Archival Preservationist |
| Quotes | "I'm... not that talkative." |
