Joselle is the daughter of Eston Long and Nenel Forlong, who was sister to Lord Forlong the senior and Aunt to Lord Forlong 'the Fat.' Nenel against her families wishes married into House Long, a lesser and far distant branch of the Forlong family so far removed that only archives can recount the transition from Forlong to Long, and shortly after that from Long to Longverge. Eston and Nenel however were deeply in love and so Joselle's mother risked the displeasure of her brother and married Joselle's father anyway.  Eston was granted a small holding in Lossarnach and the title Lord, by Nenel's brother. While grateful for the estate he had no intention of living in the shadow of his wife's family. Rather, he established himself quite securely in the land of Belfalas. Eston proved to be a unique man, both of nobility and of the working merchant class, with little desire to rule the land he sought to rule the sea. Deeply invested in ships and trade, Eston amassed absurd amounts of wealth and had multiple estates built and furnished across Gondor. Longly Hall was his favorite and Joselle's childhood home on the sea until she was seven. At that time her parents on a routine voyage were sadly lost in a storm. Upon hearing the news, her cousin, Lord Forlong 'the Fat'  who had taken her uncle's seat in Arnach all but insisted Joselle come home to the family. Thus Joselle was moved, to the great hall of Arnach and Lord Forlong assumed regency of her father's shipping fleet. He installed managers to oversee the business for his young ward and saw to her every need spoiling her quite rotten in an attempt to make up for the loss of her parents. Grateful for the protection and assistance, Joselle thrived in Arnach, while her father's holdings continued to amass wealth which was set aside for her by Lord Forlong. She has studied with masterful tutors in a wide variety of subjects and is well versed in history, languages, geography, mathematics and loves astronomy as the stars hold a sort of magic for her that she's never been able to fully explain. 

Recently Lord Forlong 'the Fat' along with his armies have been called to Minas Tirith. Arnach being an unwalled city is left vulnerable and thus he has arranged for the women of the hall to find safe refuge with relatives and other noble families. Joselle was sent with a detachment of men, her maid, and her cat Snickers, North to a distant branch of her father's family, the Longverges. Upon safe arrival she relinquished the knights back to the service of their Lord and now resides with a quaint small town family and is adjusting to a new kind of life.
