His most striking feature, would be his armour. Forged with his own hands in the forges of Imladris, Its resillience great and unrelenting, in honour of Celebrimbor, greatest of smiths. He wears his armour with pride, in both peace and war, the armour gleams ever beautiful despite the many battles. It gleams ever bright in both the light under the sun and of the stars and moon. A humble testament to Fëanor, greatest of jewellers.

Avarand is a Noldor by heart and spirit. Proud and determined, yet quiet and reserved. He values honour and loyalty greatly and will not suffer to stand idly by unjust acts. While he has no problem bowing before those of standing, he will not suffer others to do the same in his own presence held high.

Background

Here follows the scraps of the memoirs of two Firstborn of the Noldor, their names long since lost to time. They sought the beauty of Lothlorien for peace, and respite, following the defeat of the Dark Lord, and the start of the Third Age.

III 109.

It is now so, that i am now with a child. Much joy and celebrations it has been, and i am now ready to rest from such. Peace has returned to these lands, though at terrible cost. This evening i will dream of the time when i shall dance among the Mallorn leaves with my child. My beloved desires it to be a son, one which he will teach to apperciate the stories of old. One that will know of both the moments of glory and those of shame and great sorrow for our people. I desire but to see my child, daughter or son, both shall have my love.

III 110.

By the grace of fair Varda, i am blessed with twins. A son and a daughter.  Last evening, i held them both in my arms, and looked up on the stars of the night. My children, remained quiet, perhaps out of understanding? My beloved named our son under the light of the stars: Maenion. For upon one of his first sights, he laid his eyes upon an old book, and reached out for it. Our daughter, i named .....

III 139.

Our time here is nearing its end. Our son, and our daughter remain unknowning of this, still they find these lands fair and always wondering what lies beyond the horizon. My husband grows tired, and so do I, for many hardships we have seen in our time, great strife, but also joy, and laughter. The sea is calling to us. We go to Imladris, and then at last, to the Havens.

_______________________________________________________________________

Many times have I by now read the fragments of the accounts of my mother. As i was told, we never made it. The group ambushed, and most slain. Before my sights grew dim and my mind came to unconcious, I witnessed the death of my beloved twin sister. I were rescued, and brought before Lord Elrond of Imladris, whom took me in. Many years i have now spent learning the arts of metalworking, and the stories of times long since past. During the long times of the night, I would look upon the stars, Under which the same I were given my name.

Many a time I wondered if my father knew, and handed to me a name fitting for one with such interest in the tales of old. Maenion... In time i shall see them again.

Now i am married to Ilviel Alquadis, the fair maiden that when I first looked upon her, held my heart in her hand, and made me a part of her own, under the very same stars. Perhaps one day soon, i might too hold a child in my arms, and bestow upon my child, a name, under the ever beauty of Varda.
