Danu keeps much to herself, but if any should encounter her, she has the appearance of a tall and stately Elf. Around seven foot in height, she also seems strong of build. Indeed, a few reports mention her carrying spear and shield and wearing armour. Usually sighting says she is not armed, but bears an aloof though not unpleasant expression. 

She has long, flowing red hair, grey eyes, and a fair complexion with some freckles. Rarely does she speak, but she appears to understand most or maybe even all languages. 

Something of an enigma, some of the Wise have known of her, and confirm her connection to water and wisdom. Others, perhaps less knowledgeable, consider her a River-daughter.
