Outward Appearance

If you ever come across this elf, there are a few things you'd be able to notice about his outside appearance. One being his green eyes. The other being his hair, which besides being well maintained and fashions a few locks aswell as braids, is said to resemble the once beautiful and firey-red haircolor of a certain fallen Maiar. A comparison Calegon himself is rather contempt with. His hairdo is held together with a beautifully crafted piece of jewelry - a golden brooch fitted with small white gemstones, which is an heirloom that had been gifted to him by his mother. While his garments make use of a few golden accents, the elf wears a grey cloak over them, made of the fine materials found within the woods of Lórien and carefully hand-crafted by his people. As is custom for an elf of his origin the cloak is being held together by a brooch in the form of a green-golden leaf. When travelling he usually carries a beautifully gilded elven longsword, a pale longbow of the Galadhrim and a spear.

Background

Calegon is relatively composed and polite considering his upbringing within the rather conservative and isolationistic Silvan world. He cherishes a strong passion for reading lore, hearing storys of old and loves listening to songs, especially elven ones.

Being the son of both a Noldor elf from Gondolin and a Sindar she-elf from Doriath, Calegon is said to be born some time during the second age. His parents met during the first age in Beleriand, when his father Calanor the Swift performed his duties as a messenger and visited Turgon's halls of Menegroth. There Calanor is said to have immediately fallen in love with Calegon's mother Aglóril of Doriath, daughter of Bânelleth Eryniel. While many of Calegon's kinship from both his father's and mother's side of the family didn't survive the countless wars and the ultimate destruction of Beleriand, his parents managed to escape east in time.
There followed a time within the early years of the second age, when Calanor and Aglóril stayed with what remained of the Noldor people west to the misty mountains. The second age progressed. And it was amidst this age, when Aglóril gave birth to Calegon. Due to his very young age and his mother's longing not only for the company of her Sindar heritage but also her previous life within the elven woods, the decision has been made for Aglóril and Calegon to move to Lothlórien and join the Galadhrim, leaving Calegon's father with the Noldor.

As Calegon grew up to be a skilled ranger within the woods of Lórien, never really leaving the safe boundaries of said realm, the darkness within middle-earth grew yet again with the return of the dark lord Sauron, culminating in the war of the last alliance. Like some other capable and eager Galadhrim Calegon joined the banners to fight for the free people against a common foe. By his own choice the still rather young elf joined Gil-galad's Noldor forces on his fathers side, with whom he marched south, spending many months on the frontlines. With Sauron's defeat and their victory in Moria, Calegon could count himself as one of the lucky few who survived the war. Afterwards he returned to his home to his mother within Lórien, while his father joined the remaining Noldor to live in Lindon.

During almost all his years within the third age Calegon continued his isolated life within the safe borders of Lothlórien, fulfilling his duties as a ranger. It has only been within recent years that the elf started setting foot in the outside world again, this time with a newly-found awareness for the interesting places and cultures, which await to be discovered and learned about.
With his new duties, assigned to him by the high lady Galadriel herself, he now acts as a guard, frequently escorting groups of elven travellers west to Lindon, where said Eldar intend on making their journey further to Valinor. On his journeys he intents on making use of the years left to him and on making up for all those wasted years in isolation. His recently awoken interests and curiosity force him to engage in conversation with all sorts of people. Though having lived for a few thousand years, there are many things about the world that the elf has yet to learn and understand.
