Everyone needs to train. Not only to learn new skills but also to make sure the old ones do not get rusty.
A Dúnedain ranger like Sigfread is no exeption to this matter. His skill will get worse if he does not train often. So when he has the time he takes out a weapon and starts training.

Sigfread picks up spear and Javelin as he tries to get a better mastery of the weapons. 
It has been long since Sigfread went training like this but seeing his sister again and meeting her kin has put him to try it. Besides, it would be time for him to learn more about his sister...
The spear is not the problem, he has used them before.... the Javelins however.......

I read again what I wrote the evening after initial training; much of it bears a bittersweet pang. My attempts to capture an intensely complicated emotional situation in far-too-brief prose are clumsy at best. It is at times such as these when I envy the short-lived races. Though I cannot say I share their minds, I do find their resilience admirable and desirable. As one of the Eldar, I am granted time incomprehensible to those who do not share my longevity, and yet after what would be generations to Men, I still find it a challenge to write on my departure.
