To be an Emissary

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

It is with a gladdened heart I write this..

The Flower will return though its arrival is not defined..

I have been sent at the behest of Curugirion to Imladris, a hub and haven for many of our allies, friends, Eldar and Men.

To simply relay that the Flower will return, as many have enquired to its absense and whence it will return..

Many things are likely to change in the next deployment some I am aware of and some I am not.. none the less this -is- a good day.

Taking Flight - Part One.

Story

The white ships flew lightly across the waves, an increasing roar of air and water filling my ears as we turned in close pursuit of our prey. Oh he was clever, that corsair captain (it is in my thoughts that he had more than a little Numenorean blood in his veins)…having eluded us for three days longer than his ‘companions’ had managed, venturing out to sea and hiding in the mists, turning to hug the rocky coastline of northern Minhiriath in a way that was beyond reckless for one of his draught.

Elf Bird.

“How is nest, Elf bird? How is territory?” the white and grey gull tapped the ground with her bill, and asked me politely.

I had been sitting in a favoured place of mine, next the stream that flowed through Thamas Lorn into the Lhun. Deep in thought was I as the bird alighted on the sward close by.

She coughed, and bobbed her head at me. “You speak not with Kroahaah these days?”

I shook myself swiftly. So absorbed in my own thoughts had I been that I had not truly noticed the arrival of my old friend.

Overlooking Thamas Lorn.

Durthand and Aearlinn take a brief pause in their duties to admire the view across the Lhun. Although both are concerned for Curugirion and Aearandir, they trust in the skill of their friends, and in the strength and speed of the vessels they command.

Back to the Vale..

It is decided then; I am to journey to Imladris as a matter of courtesy for our friends who dwell there. No doubt some news of the flowers withdrawal will have reached the ears of our allies none the less I am to visit and explain in detail, misinformation is the real enemy at this moment.

Recalled but ready.. passive yet vigilant..

We have been recalled.. Cirdan has required the Flower to return though I am not yet aquianted with the details, it was a matter of importance that we retire from our present location.

Essentially, we are on hold.. neither ready to move or disbanded.. rather simply waiting and biding our time for the perfect moment.. I can only hope that such a time is judged well.

For now.. I reside in Falathorn my spear and shield are ready for that moment of calling..

Farewell....

"Say farewell to all you love...," he had said. But this was not what she had expected!

Aearlinn takes a few moments to contemplate all she holds dear, as she watches anor rise upon fair Thamas Lorn, her home for the past year.

She is interupted in her pondering by her raven friend. "Craaaa!" Tiri shakes his head from side to side with agitation, and voices his concern over recent changes of plan. But he and Cugu will remain with the elleth whether she travels elsewhere or not.

Little Light.

Story

The path is narrow, winding gently up-hill through the rich, yet subtle colours of Narbelleth. A bronzed land this - leaves, grass, remaining petals all lightly painted with hues of amber and russet and glowing scarlet. Even under feet that tread so lightly there is a faintest crunch of dried leaves – barely audible save to those most keen of hearing, as the cool-tinged wind changes direction, whips up apace, and blows those same leaves into swirling clouds about our knees.

Parting Gift

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

I had ridden swiftly from Thamas Lorn to Mithlond, changing horses on the way instead of making my usual halt at Celondim for Suldal to rest. I would collect her on my return journey. With the Mithdirith about to embark on a mission to the north, haste was of the utmost necessity.

Aearandir’s recent words still echoed in my mind as I rode alongside the bank of the Lhun, heading west. “Have you said farewell to all you love, to all you hold dear?”

Of course I had!

Starlit Patrol

On the turn of the year to the light, Aearandir and Aearlinn ride a familiar patrol route to the north of Thamas Lorn. All is quiet...all is still under the stars of Elbereth. But both edhil know that will change for those of the Mithdirith in coming days ...
