I am writing this letter to because I think you deserve an explanation to know these things.
You may choose not to read it. Actually, if I judge you correctly you will not and instead will mourn in silence.
But I will still write this, because.

I am very sorry about your sister. When I heard of it I thought for a moment it may have been my fault because for I spoke to her, and she talked to me about her pain and about you.

The hunter opened the door to the library with a trained gesture, motioning for his companion to enter before following her himself. The heavy doors clicked shut with barely a sound, leaving the library in its usual reverential silence.
Following her guide through the aisles of books, the elf once again looked around. She had been to the library before, of course, but it still filled her with awe and a feeling of inadequacy. Had the Lord of the Last Homely House really read every book in this place?

Thoughtfully, the Elf removed her maid's cap that had denoted her profession for the last months.
She folded it neatly and was about to put it away when she hesitated and put it in her bag instead. It was a little extra weight, but why not? She liked the memory it brought her... perhaps it would aid her, where she was going.
