Yllfa

At The Marketplace

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

It was a softly lowered sky that rained feather-light droplets upon the village that morning. The mist was not cold, for spring had arrived in earnest, and the rich, brown earth drank deeply of the refreshment, pushing forth in turn its tender, verdant shoots in places where heel and cart did not intrude. The world was taking on its new mantle of brighter daylight, even under an overcast sky.

It started out as a normal day on the marketplace, until the captain of Bancross, Denholm, arrived with news. His announcements were as follows:

First announcement; The criminal known as Criba is, by order of the Thane Averel, hereby released from imprisonment. He is not to be harmed or confronted. However, the captain added by his own account, should the man cause trouble again, he would deal with it personally.

Book of Days. Reading an Entry.

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

Ethel came to me earlier today when I had sat down by the fire for a few moments. She was carrying with her a leather bound book that contained many pages.

The Bancross Mystery: Of Brinin.

Story

I brush away the heavy lock of hair that has fallen across the sleeping boy’s face. He blows against my touch, but does not wake. Thick, straw blonde hair it is, so typical of many of our folk. His eyes are greenish, and his nose seems overly large. He is young, no more than a year or so older than Ethel, I suspect. But then often girls take on the appearance of women at a younger age than boys take on the look of men?

The Bancross Mystery: A Winter's Hunt. Part Two.

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Heartha had already scouted out the area agreed upon, when the others arrived. She had found very few signs of boar, even there. The hilly woodlands to the east of Bancross were usually teeming with wild boar. Why was there such a shortage this year? The hunting party may yet have to rely on the results of fishing, or possibly a moose or two, to fill the mouths of their folk, she mused.

Winter Hunting: The Battle with the Troll

The menacing voices and footsteps thundered against the hunting company, and from the forest appeared a raging troll, and a couple of orcs. There was nowhere to flee, and the battle was inevitable. The troll, luckily still weakened and hurting from previous battles, proved to be a most worthy foe. Even though his sluggish swinging often missed its intended targets, it took nearly all of young Ethel's arrows, and the strength and agility with swords and any other weapons of Waelden, Duncadda, Gamferth, Luccan and Yllfa to finally bring it down.

Winter Hunting: The burned caravan

As the people of Bancross begin their journey home with the meat they had gathered during the winter hunt, they encounter a recently burned and plundered caravan along the road between Aldburg and Bancross. Many people paid with their lives in the attack, ill-equipped as they were, and the mere sight of the disaster would hit far too close to the hearts of the hunting company, in more ways than one. Had fate wished otherwise it could've been them instead, and so close to their hometown.
