Daigan's book, entry '6'

''I spent the whole day walking through the town. No one bothered to lay their eyes on me. Are they used to so many travelers? Or simply just kept to themselves? Time will tell.

''As I write this I lay my eyes upon Bree. We've reached it finally. My companions seem tired, less wary as ever. They're mourning. They lost one of their own for the sake of me. None of them blame me openly, but I can read it on their faces. They set out to protect me, most likely thinking that this would be an easy, well paid assignment. They never realised what the cost this might bring. His burial seemed so peaceful, as if nothing could disturb this. No one said a word, they just looked at the grave. They didn't need to. The words could never come near to what I see on their faces.

Kuzgun pulled the reins tight to make her steed slow down and looked at the wall that surrounds Bree. *How long has passed since I left here?* She wondered. *3 years? Maybe more…*

She passed the guarded entrance and made her way to the stables. She knew that there is no need for her to leave her steed behind. Still Kuzgun felt like to have a little walk amongst the streets of the town once more.

“Behave” she whispered her bad tempered companion and warned in a serious tone “no more biting!”

I don't recognise myself anymore, I said, as I lifted the by now familiar and comforting hood from my face, I don't even know why I bother to wear it anymore, simple matter of habit... the fact that when I first came here I'd no wish to be seen or heard of. I don't recognise myself, these black robes, a coil of thin wire tucked away in my cloak, the daggers, the poison, lock-picks... the tools of my trade.

Another beautiful starry night in Bree…

Sitting on this roof and watching people passing by in their daily hustle. It has been nearly more than a month already after I ran away from home and as I thought they never think about searching me before their noses. *Kuzgun smirks to herself* Thanks to festival, there is a huge crowd and had chance to gain some extra coins apart from delivering messages. But I know I had to collect some more money and move on my way soon.
