"Is everyone alive?" The winded voice of the Rohirrim captain sounded like a desperate cry to his men. His arms and legs were still shaking. So was his voice. The other Rohirrim came down from their horses. their bodies exhausted and their thoughts confused. Angelnarth carried the insensible maiden down from her horse, and placed her body upon a thick linen bedroll by the fire. She was half awake already. "Wh..What happened?", her voice came out of her lips, weak and low.

The road to East, part III: Meeting

Story

The sky was finally clear and blue. The strong wind had subsided, and the sun was rising for a new day to begin. Angelnarth gently removed the bandage off his left arm and inspected the cut caused during his fight less than two days ago. It was looking good, the wound was healing quickly and there seemed to be no signs of infection. He got on his feet, carefully folded his thick, wool cloak and climbed out of the crevasse he used for shelter during the past night.

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Angelnarth wiped the black colored blood off one of his swords. He looked up to the sky. It was dark, barely around noon, but still, dark. A storm was coming.

He spasmodically turned to his left. He heard something. More of them were on his tracks. He dropped the blood stained cloth on the ground, and picked up his swords once again. He waited...he could not see them with his damaged eyesight, but he could hear them. Marching and yelling and clanking their weapons like the orcs do before they attack.

The sun has almost set behind the Weather Hills, to the west of the Trollshaws, and the third day of the mission was coming to an end. Angelnarth gratefully received a small lit candle from one of the elves around him, which he brought closer to his map, inspecting it thorough.

"Do you have an answer?"

The Noldo's words were heard across the cold room, reaching Angelnarth's ears like a violent awakening, a nightmare that disturbed his peaceful sleep, yet more true than reality itself.

Darkness embraced him.Everything faded from around him, his sight, hearring and smell.Even pain, he couldn't feel pain either anymore. It was like everything paused, and time stoped passing by. "Is that how death feels like?", Angelnarth thought. "And what of my men, will i meet them again? Perhaps i won't be allowed to follow them, as a punishment for falling last, an unworthy leader as i was." He struggled to move, to open his eyes, to scream...but no voice came out of his lips, no move from his limbs and body, like he didn't own them anymore.
