Dunland

The camp

After wandering off for another half hour, Atharan managed to find the main camp of these hostile dunlanders.
From a distance he observed it but one thing stood out. The banners near the entrance of the camp. Upon those banners was the mark of the White Hand. No talks of peace will be made with them unless they get what they want.

Unlike the Stag Clan they are mindless fools to be tricked so easily by pretty words and false promises.
Atharan noted about two dozen dunlanders roaming around and inside the camp.

According to the Elder of the Stag Clan, a group of Dunlanders loyal to the white hand had come from the Starkmore towards their settlement.
Their hunters and warriors have been facing off against small groups but these unfriendly ones are dare not to give up their effort to take over Lhan Tarren.
Atharan went out to see where they came from, where was their camp and who is guiding them. After walking for about hour he came across a small camp. Four men sat near a fire. They were as the Elder described these unfriendly ones.

After his encounter with the Algraig it became well known to Atharan that they had no plans to concour any form of land. The Algraig of Enedwaith wish only to live in peace. Upon this he had hoped to ride North again but sadly he was mistaken. One of the scouts told Atharan to seek out the Stag Clan in Northern Dunland. Apperently many of the clans in the lands of Dunland have rallied behind the White Hand. They have become dangerous foes and might wish to invade Enedwaith and beyond!

News finally came from Esteldin.
We have found traces of more and more Dunlanders rallying to those of the white hand and this might become troublesome for the southern lands of Eriador.
Though Eregion belongs to the kin of elves, our relation with them does ask of us to investigate this. We can not afford to fight a threat in the south but if it comes to that we must be prepared. Halbarad asked me to travel to Enedwaith and perhaps to Dunland to see what may be rising there.

The man stopped, standing still, not unlike a statue, as if some sort of spell had just frozen him. He narrowed his eyes as he recognized what was before him, the beast that had already defeated him once: a Warg, as big as a horse and black as the night. It could be any black Warg, especially since the last time it was in the Lone-Lands, miles away... but Ildrand knew it was that Warg. The same size, the same growl, the same eyes.

After a long journey (that will eventually be posted) Pren and Gwennol reach his abandoned childhood home in Starkmoor, just in time for them to say good bye as he readies himself to lead a raid across the Isen against the hated Rohirrim.

"Come on, come on! We're in Dunland, already. Few more days, and we'll be there."

Gwennol raked her nails on the man's hand as he choked her, pulling back as her eyes turn bloodshot, her lips purple. She gasped for air that would not come, twisting in the sick man's grip. The door to the hut slammed open and Pren burst into the room, his eyes drawn to the center of the floor Gwennol struggled. A look of pure anger crossed his face and he shouted out in a deep threatening voice, "LET HER GO."

Pren nodded as he ran a hand through her hair briefly before the voice was heard, pulling the kitten back towards himself and putting him in his furs, letting his head pop out.

Gwennol looked up, standing and going to fetch her bag, "What is wrong with him?" She asked the young man, a boy really, who came to deliver the message. He shrugged, looking away from Pren, a hint of fear in his eyes, "I don't know, he has fever and won't wake."

Gwennol's face grew serious and she turned to Pren, "I must go help."

The journey through Eregion was quiet, the land full of rolling hills and dry creek beds, clusters of holly trees giving the area the name, Hollin. Ancient elvish ruins dotted the landscape as they rode along the faint path, dust kicking up under the hooves of the big brown horse.
