The Springtime has now come around
And once more wonders are on show
For fresh life springs out of the ground
As sweet born flowers start to grow
And in the rising morning glow
The trestled roses standing tall
To give their scents to those below
For Springtime brings new life for all

Remember a day when the sun shone so bright?
It flowed through the windows, all lovely and light
And lit up the room with its soft golden rays
Do you remember that day?

And can you recall all the birds in the trees?
All singing out softly their sweet melodies
And gentle the buzzing of bees all around
Can you recall all these sounds?

The Lament

These fields of green that peaceful lie
The grass does secrets now belie
For deep within this tender ground
Are echoes of far distant sighs

Where now the softest footsteps tread
Was once a scene all soaked in red
And calling us from long ago
The voices of the noble dead

We'll hear their voices on the breeze
A faintest whisper in the trees
Though songbirds all now dare to sing
Where now these shadows lie at ease

The Battle

Hobbits charging down and down
Footsteps thudding on the ground
Forks and axes raised up high
Hobbits crossed the fields
Conflict getting ever near
Louder grew the hobbit cheer
Close the red of goblin eyes
Hobbits braced their shields

The Speech

And so he strode in front the crowd
And standing tall, he said aloud
"My friends, my folk, my kith, my kin"
"The task we face is bleak and grim"
"A darkest threat is at our door"
"That threatens us for evermore"
"For evil's come with spears and knives"
"It has no care for hobbit lives"
"These Goblins that invade the Shire"
"Have brought with them their filth and fire"

The caterpillar
Is fatter, stiller
Than a lazy hobbit after tea
It's slowly munching
On leaves it's crunching
Slowly, surely, slow as slow can be

So soft and hairy
And colours varied
Writhing, wriggling, strangely all around
With heart still beating
It keeps on eating
Chewing on the plants with scarce a sound

Give me a smile
I'll give you a twirl
Give me a hand
I've give you the world!
Play me some music
I'll sing you a song
We'll feel so much better
If friends sing along

Open the window
To let in the sunshine
Open the front-door
To let in the good times
Open your heart now
To friends all around
For when you feel welcome
There's joy to be found

I'm closing my eyes in the evening
And slowly I drift far away
My bed is afloat on the moonbeams
As wonderful sights come my way

The land of my dreams now surrounds me
It stretches as far as I see
The vision is simply amazing
I wonder what lies there for me

The meadows are green and delightful
With flowers all dotted around
The colours are just like a rainbow
Cascading from out of the ground

So tell me little Shrew
Just what is it you do?
You run about the garden
Just doing things that Shrews do?

Your numbers may be few
I count just one or two
So are you busy making
Some little baby Shrews?

As morning sun breaks through
Do you drink morning dew?
And spend your day just eating
And looking at the view?

But hawks and owls too
Are always hunting you
I guess they may be thinking
That Shrews are there to chew
