The house was quiet, lightened only by the fire of the fireplace and the two candles that stood on the desk, which for the first time had no maps on it, nothing but his pipe, a bottle of whiskey, three or four pipeweed pouches and his journal, along with a quill and the ink. Fiontann fell heavy on the chair and leaned back, thinking of Rothrian, his right hand clutching his temples as he threw his head back, shutting his eyes.

The night was still young when Fiontann awakened, he looked around to see everyone asleep, except for the guards and the patrols. Rothrian was asleep by his side and not wishing to disturb her sleep, he silently pushed himself some inches away and got up, with swift motions he put on his jacket and took his sword.

Fengdiel woke with a jolt and a gulp as she sat up right in her tent in Ost Guruth, breathing fast and hard as one does when they wake up from a nightmare, her words still echoing in her mind as she rummaged through her pack to find the leather bound book that is her diary and began to write in it.
