Danglir was the strongest of the five, not in will but in arms. Like most of his kin, he was trained in the use of bows, and often times, an oaken bow could be found slung across his back. But more often, one would see his shield, for he preferred to fight up close rather than with bow and arrow.
He was the best fighter, and none of the other four could triumph against his mighty sword and shield, although some could stand their ground for quite some time. His blade was made of the finest steel around and his shield heavy but sturdy. Both he had crafted on his own, for he was a skilled with the shaping of metals as well as their usage.
In battle he could slay numerous goblins, take on several robbers at once. His sword was feared by the enemies of the Wardens, and a noble ally to those who fought alongside him. His shield made him live up to his name as Guardian, for that panel of metal defended many lives.
He was not the fairest of men nor the wisest. But Danglir was a large man, the tallest of the five. Despite his great stature and intimidating look, Danglir was a gentle man, kind to those around him and especially his friends.
He was among the most friendliest and cheerful of the five, often laughing or joking. He never feared danger and could lift morale in the most desperate of situations. He was the liveliness of the Guardians at their table in Tinnudir Keep, eating the most food while providing much of the merriment.
When Annuminas came under threat, Danglir fought hard alongside the others to push back their enemies. But even then five was no match for more than fifty, and they were cornered within one of the crumbling structures of the old city. Soon they would be surrounded if they did not flee, but they could not flee quick enough from the mass of arrows and swords.
Danglir was the one who stayed, locking the others out, knowing they would try to help. He stood alone against the fifty as he set the room ablaze. That day the greatest warrior among the five felled fifty foes, but he too would fall that day.
No corpse was found to be buried, no ashes present to be scattered. There was only an empty seat, at the table in Tinnudir Keep.
