Hello there, friend! Well, at least, I hope. This is assuming the raven that the raven took it to the correct person. If you are a scholarly man wit reddish hair and blushed when a raven dropped a letter on your lap while you were sitting at a desk and your name is NOT Deocles... Well, I apologize, but please give this letter back to the raven (her name is Eterúna) and send her on her way.
If you are in fact Deocles, then hello there, friend. Again. I am glad the letter made it to you.
I am not sure if you had noticed or not, but I have been gone for a bit. Funny thing chance is. We kept bumping in to each other at the worse times. Never did get to that meeting we had planned.
I am sorry for leaving without telling you. I did try to find you, but the dwarves I am tagging along with wanted to depart.
Oh, right. Haven't told you where I am off to. I am on my way to Erebor. Well, not Erebor exactly, but around there. I am finally going to see my family. It was a bit unexpected, but the moment I overheard these dwarves talking about a journey to Erebor, I begged them to let me come with. Took a bit of bargaining, too. But when I told them my story, and proved it by speaking to them in Khuzdul, they agreed that I could join them.
Can't remember their names just off the top of my head, but there are eight of them. Rowdy bunch, too. I had forgotten how much I miss the company of dwarrow folk. It almost makes me feel like I am home already.
I do not know exactly why I am writing to you. Not even sure if you will write back. But if you do, just give Eterúna my name and she will find me.
And also give her some rabbit, if you could. She likes rabbit.
May Mahal shield you,
Caryndra
