Facing Fear
Lord Amnis and Lady Aellewenn were summoned to Thaladuin. Annsuel rushed to Harlyn to tell her, El and Firam were with her. Harlyn did not wait, she and the three of them set out to the Thaladuin estate, where they were greeted at the door by Ivlathdur, Lord Gerwolf, and Lord Amnis. Well, greeted was the nicest way to put things. Lord Gerwolf, or how Annsuel liked to call him, Lord Arrogant gave them a long rant as if he thought telling them how terrible their actions were would change them.
Harlyn, however, convinced Lord Gerwolf to free Zurich, with Lord Amnis and Ivlathdur's help. She promised him they would call peace, for Zurich. Lord Gerwolf should learn soon how much of a liar Harlyn is. Then together, the five with their back-ups, headed down the path. But alas, Lord Gerwolf chased after them with his bow in his hand. To Annsuel's amazement, Ivlathdur got between the two, and talked Gerwolf down. Indignation left proud and successful. All Annsuel cared about, however, is that they had freed Zurich.
Zurich was safe for the time being. That was good. Now the main threat was House of Thaladuin. Annsuel did not trust Gerwolf's words. So with Harlyn's permission, she spoke with Lord Amnis. A deal was made. Lord Amnis promised to aid Indignation as long as they left the House of Estellin and the House of Gadreel alone. Something Annsuel could live with. Though Annsuel knew deep down that Harlyn had intended only to call a truce with Estellin and Gadreel until Thaladuin was out of the way.
Was it right to trick Amnis like that? Should Annsuel have convinced him to protect Indignation with hopes of protecting Estellin and Gadreel? Annsuel had to honor Harlyn's orders and there was a goal to reach. She couldn't just let her personal feelings get in the way. But something about Lord Amnis made Annsuel care about him. She loved Lord Levarris, cared about Lord Amnis, she spends too much time with the nobles.
Friends of foes? Why couldn't it be a simple answer?
