Chrysanthe hums. "Well.... there is an odd story.." She trails of trying to gain Tae's interest...not that the story would be true but the Gondorian lad probably wouldn't know better...not like he would ask Rae. Chrysanthe grins and hums. "Well....there was this one time we traveled to the burrows." She speaks a bit louder to see if anyone else in the room was listening. "We were off to collect herbs and we had to go to one of the bigger burrows. We enter without an issue other then one of our torches not wanting to stay lit. We head to the first room and he looks over some of the tombs reading the names and such. As he did that I tried pinch a bit of gold here and there....quite the normal for me. As I walked further in I heard an odd scratching. I thought it was a spider or maybe a stray dog...that had to be it. Well we decided to move deeper into the tombs and the scratching stopped. We shrugged it off and started to work on finding the herbs Rae needed."
" It began to grow darker in the tomb and a odd smell filled the air, a sweet one. much like when Rae burns some of the herbs to help clean his house of odd smells. We against shrugged it off and kept walking. Some the scratching came again, louder this time, much closer. I thought it was just a dog following us to find they way out, Rae didn't seem to hear it."
"Well we made it to the last room and your brother decided to open tomb there after he read what was carved into the stone. He couldn't get the lid off so I helped him as best I could with sliding it off. We had to step back as dust flew out of it and a few moths and when we looked inside we noticed there was not body. Not a bone! The scratching started to get louder behind us and we turned to see a man of bones walking toward us! He must have been two boots taller then Rae! He groaned and the sound seemed to come from all around us as cries came from the other tombs. Rae picked up a stone and tried to throw it at the bone man but it went through him! We grabbed what we could and ran toward the exit, the bone man chasing us, still making the scratching sound as he dragged a long, large axe across the floor! Tombs start to break open and we had to dodge arms as they tried to grab us."
" We made it out as some other adventures were coming to the burrow and they helped us collapse stones to block the door, hands grabbing for us as we did! I think there is still and hand there, sticking out of the ground." Chrysanthe finishes her tale and looks at Tae."
After a bit of conversing she starts another story, an even darker tale. Chrysanthe decides to start on the tail of the Forsaken inn. "Well, for another tale I went to the Forsaken in a few moons back and a man was sitting by the fire. He called me over and started to tell a very odd tale. He said a man had come in, not a week before to find a place to stay. He ordered a plate of food, roast boar legs and a bit of sides. He was given an old swill and a key to The last room the innkeeper had to rent out. The man lit up a pipe before he continues to speak, he told of the innkeeper trying to talk the man out of the renting to room. Told him he wouldn't make the night in it but the man kept putting more coins down on the table. Finally the innkeep gave in and let the man have the key. The bright sunny day become evening and dark clouds rolled in, a promise of heavy rain in the air. Everyone moved to their room as did the young gent. He walked in to find a very nice room, spotless and well set up. He set his pack and saddle down before lighting a candle and taking out his things to write letters back home."
"First a soft rain started to hit the roof and then it got harder and harder, it seemed as though it would break through the roof." She pauses and takes a breath. "But the rain didn't run through the roof..not yet. The man simply moved to light a fire to warm the room and sat down that desk, working on the letters in silence. As time went by the rain didn't let up and lightning became to flash as thunder roared and bellowed around the in. The man kept writing though only to pause as red droplets started to fall on the sheets of white paper. He looked up but could not see where is was coming from, he was on the top floor as well so it wasn't someone above him. He moved to his door and began to look up and down the hallway. Seeing nothing he returned to his room, only to find the papers unstained and fine...not a red drop on them. He decided it must have been the swill causing him to see things that were not there, he shook his head and started to write again."
She pauses again and takes a drink from her pint. "Soon it was middle of the night, he decided he should get some rest. He left his seat and walked over to mirror on a desk to freshen up in a bowl of water left out for him. He looks in the mirror and sees a man many years older than he standing there, looking back at him. He blinks and the mirror returns to normal. Now the man was spooked, he quickly moved over to the bed and started checking everything the room, above and below everything only to find nothing. He against shakes it off as just the swill. He lies down to get some rest for the night. A couple hours later a scream comes from his room, many of the people come running and the locked door is broken down to find....nothing. There was nothing in the room just a few cobwebs and a lone saddle and some letters on the ground. Not a bed, nor desk, no table, nothing but those items that man had had with him."
"The next morning a few of the locals board up the room's door and windows yet the people say you can still see a candle light up the room and hear him moving around." Chrissy smiles and looks at Tae, seeing if she had scared him yet. "The lad finishes his tale there and I headed home, not wanting to spend the night there."
