Enough information I have learned now to at last begin my most likely tedious search. The search for this Wolfshead. A criminal with many crimes and sins written on him. Permanently like engravings on stone. Alas, such crimes would perhaps take more than half a life time to repair and repent of. But such repentance I can easily assume is not at all this man’s desire. And so, it is in my best interest to attempt to end this man - this unreasonable hypocrite. For he is past redemption. I may succeed, and I may not. But I can never stay in one place out of fear of failure. If I am to fail, then so be it. And if I meet victory, then Bree-land will be cleansed of this wolf among sheep. And a handsome reward will be waiting for me… but that is not what I most desire. And of course, there is always the in-between. A half victory where I only end up finding information or something else for the watch. And I would still claim a reward, be it small or large. Indeed, that would be better than nothing.
It was some days ago when I first heard of this Wolfshead, or Wulfthrud, his real name. For Wolfshead is apparently - after being banished - what they started to call him instead. I was at the bakery, Owena’s bakery, when such news reached my ears. After the Wolf was exiled, he risked coming back and very unfortunately succeeded in kidnapping Owena, along with another woman and the same Judge who deemed him guilty. So another girl, Annii if I remember correctly, has taken over the bakery for the time being.
There were a few others gathered in the bakery that day besides the baker and I (it was several days after I returned from the North Downs), but it was Einnaar the dwarf who I mostly spoke to about the matter. As he seemed to know more than a fair amount about it. At the end of our discussion, he advised me to meet with Corrben of the watch if I desired to know more. It was then when I decided to start a hunt for this much wanted criminal as a bounty hunter.
When I arrived at the jail-house, I was directed to speak with Hueber Radcliff instead of this Officer Corrben. As he was not available at the moment. Indeed, I learned a fair bit more while speaking to him. The watchman’s guess is that Wolfshead and his followers, which are many it seems, are now farther to the east, beyond Chetwood perhaps. I will start my search in that general area, near the edge of the forest and the Midgewater Marsh. Indeed, it will be dangerous and I must constantly be ready and alert. As It has been some time since I have gone on such a journey with a goal like this one.
Enough knowledge has been gathered…
I leave at first light.
