| Kinship | — |
| Outward Appearance | A tall man of Bree standing at 5'11", with dark keen eyes and thinning grey hair. Though age has weakened his body, taking his strength and giving him a paunch in his later years, his voice remains commanding, his mind remains sharp, and he remains in the office he has held for over a decade: a judge of Bree-town, upholding justice and meting out punishment for those convicted of crimes under Breeish law. In court, he wears a long black robe as the symbol of his office, and outside of it, he clothes himself in garb of fine yet understated make. |

Background
A former watchman of Bree, turned to law at the age of 37 after a grievous knee injury ruined his career. Becoming a barrister, he remained in and out of the courtroom until he finally became a judge at the age of 49, a position he has remained in for over a decade. He lives with his wife of 42 years, Joyce Oakley, in the Scholar's Stair.
Currently, Oakley has been kidnapped by the outlaw called Wulfthrud, and his wife and grandchildren have gone into hiding. His status remains unknown.
| Friends | Second-watcher Heathstraw, Mayor Tenderlarch, and many of those in Bree with political or educational functions. He keeps in touch with Watcher's families, like the Fenflowers, the Appledores, and the Grimbriars. |
|---|---|
| Relatives | — |
| Rivals/Enemies | Those who seek to do harm to Bree-land's people (both Big and Little) and their institutions. He is understanding of but distastes for attempts at vigilante justice made by those who feel the law not enough for them. |
| Loves | His children and grandchildren, a fine book from his library, delivering justice to the wronged, and coming home to his beloved after work. |
|---|---|
| Hates | The cases he remains unsure about in the months and years after his decisions, the dull ache in his creaking bones, the missed time in his children's rearing while he worked long hours as a barrister. |
| Motivation | To help keep Bree-town as safe as possible, and to retire away to his home and family having lived life honorably and justly. |
| Quotes | "The case has been decided. Court is dismissed." |
