I am getting to know Averick slowly. He’s a very intelligent and pleasant boy. He took after his mother. I finally met Rickstan, briefly but met him and we spoke of this and of that. In the end he suggested Averick stays with us for some time. That way he will get to know me and get used to me being around Cedwyn.

Some days ago I sent a letter South, addressed to Gaeded, I hope that they will get it soon. I am confident in her abilities to lead the company but it’s been a long while without news and they are constantly in my mind.

Two days ago I met a young hunter at The Prancing Pony, I gave him an order for things to hunt and bring to The Thirsty Boar. He seemed sure to get them and we made a first arrangement. We’ll make a full one when he comes to the inn.

These days I have been meeting Dimheim. He doesn’t seem in a good health, not physically, nor mentally. He’s even more absorbed in his thoughts and he has lost weight again. Something ails him. Greatly this time. He had made some progress days ago but he back tracked. I tried to talk to him as he was at the inn today.

He keeps looking behind his shoulder, at the door, at windows. He confessed that he thinks that someone is watching him, from the shadows, from windows. He said it’s fine when he isn’t alone but he was greatly distressed. He said that it’s knows it’s nothing but he needs to train himself to not react like that.

I think it’s nothing too, but it’s worrying. At dawn I will take Aingen with me and visit his Soothery, I will take a look around it to search for tracks, just to eliminate the possibility of someone actually being there. But I will also familiarise the raven with the area and the way to the man’s house. Then I will be able to send it there many times a day, only to keep watch of his house and make sure that everything is fine.

Now I am worried about him. This way I will know that he is safe. He doesn’t have to know about it though, it will only add to his uneasiness or he will protest greatly, justifiably maybe. But I want to be sure. One can never know, or be too cautious.

I'll make sure to send the raven over the Soothery several times a day. If something happens I'll know and I'll be there at once. I'm sorry Elias, but I want to be on the safe side.
