Elufer lived in Rivendel for a few centuries by now. She has arrived from Lothlorien already a scholar, and quickly tried to make herself useful by continuing her extensive research of inanimate nature.

In Rivendell, she became known for her knowledge and experience with select metals, superior alloys, rare minerals, and precious stones. She was known to study forces of nature and their possible application to Elven crafts. In close circles, Elufer advocated that there was tremendous, awesome power to be gained from nature. And, more importantly, this power had to remain out of hands of the enemy!

As Elufer steadily progressed toward discoveries, her meticulous methods refined with experience, she ventured to various places in Middle Earth to gain first-hand experience of the natural environment. Once, she ventured toward Moria with a goal to understand how everything melts into lava and what properties it has. She returned to Rivendell much earlier than she was expected and seemed saddened.

Friends

Elufer had two dear friends, Shemkel and Laurel. The three were very close and spent splendid time together. Then, her friends left for an errand and she has not heard from them for decades. 

During that period, Elufer became engrossed in her natural studies of interactions of Earth and atmosphere, occasionally traveling for field observations, and actively contributing to the Rivendell's library. This was a prolific period, although many of her neighbours in the Vale suspected her a recluse.

However, a few years later, Shemkel re-appeared in Rivendell again and informed her that Laurel was killed by an Orc arrow. One can only imagine the sweeping sadness that engulfs a dear friend upon receiving such mournful news. Shemkel was lost in grief himself for decades, which Imladris residents understood quite well.

After a few decades, Shemkel and Elufer were seen occupied with something together again, a common goal or a process that they both devoted themselves to.

They are not public about their new endeavors, but it is generally known to several Elves in Imladris and Ered Luin that the two of them have founded a somewhat clandestine organization, The Wyld Hunt.  Elufer began traveling a little more frequently, while Shemkel is rarely entering the Vale nowadays. Anyone who asks Elufer about the mysterious Shemkel Mornheneb, will be reassured that he is doing fine and actively fighting for a great cause.
