Jestin grew up on the farm just outside Archet. His father Ozz would always regale him and his older brother with stories of when he was a young man running free with an adventuring company. This was before meeting his mother Maisy and settling down to a farmer's life. The stories always had Jestin dreaming of one day having his own adventures. Schooled by his mother in reading and writing and later on by Tolman Gardner the local Hobbit minstrel. Jestin helped his older brother work the farm every day which helped the young lad to build a little muscle. His brother had a dream of becoming an adventure which in turn fueled the desire within to follow his brother but he to lacked the martial skills needed so little by little he practice each day with the aid of Tolman.

Hanging around his brother and his friends soon he too became known as one of The Mad Badger Crew.
