Ideas and Ideology

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

In the library of Imladris, Parnard read, he studied, he reflected. He might have taken too much notice of one aspect of history, and too little of another, but that is the way of those who are looking for something to validate their beliefs. He did not find what he was seeking, and succeeded only in upsetting himself.

An Errant Message

Meanwhile, as Belethoriel and his men continued their search for the missing Themodir, Parnard kept himself very busy.

The Dance Lesson

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

This day I was forced to leave my chambers, concluding it was unfit that I should ask Linguleth for a dancing lesson, and not be present, even if Maephaer should not attend; and so resolved to go by myself.

Tasked

Story

There was a cautious step heard in the hallway, and a knock on the door.

“Enter,” Parnard said, irritated at the interruption. He was still trying, and failing, to decipher the book Lillorthael the Minstrel had left for him in the Hall of Fire.

How to Be Polite in an Impolite World

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

Many believe that politeness is but a mask worn in the world to conceal bad thoughts and impulses, which folk put on and take off as it conveniences them, but I politely disagree with this. Politeness is goodness of heart put into daily practice; and there can be no politeness without kindness. True politeness is the harmonious music that always arises from a benevolent heart, and those who have benevolent hearts will never, under any circumstances, be rude.

The Music Contest

Story

"It was a very close contest," remarked the Lord Ambassador. He had returned to his usual place in the Hall of Fire, beside Sogadan, and was of the proud belief that he had averted a national catastrophe.

Judgement

Story

It is over. Darkness fills the hall, tempered by the light from the huge fireplaces. Sogadan mutters something and scowls at her, refusing to be cowed by Cachunir's reproachful looks. She stares into the gloomy depths of her wine, ignoring the vintner and scholar alike. Eventually, their third companion, still clad in his uniform, draped in Elrond's colours, speaks.

“When do you leave?”

Sadness in Success

Story

Estarfin came into the Hall, and, as he bowed to me, obviously took note of my garb. He looked at me very keenly for a moment, and seemed very surprised. Then he said, in his abrupt manner, “You were made a Caun?”

At Tourney

                                                                       At Tourney

Two blows at the passage and ten at the joining, more or less, and foul play is forbidden.

A New Appointment

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Diary

It is unknown to many of the House that I have been a great traveler in the world, but as I am not so learned as some, and not educated in the High Speech: being born in the dark woods to a humble cheesemaker, I am sometimes looked down upon by certain Elves, and considered to be very ignorant.
