Estarfin

A Welcome Guest

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

After dinner that evening we sat in the main room, candles giving a flickering golden ambiance to the walls, and spoke of our trip to Forlond.

The Northern Harbour: Part Two

Story

The afternoon found us taking a short tour of the main streets. I was trying to show Estarfin the places and views I was most fond of. There was the Central Library, down on the island between the falls, the Scholars Enclave, whose steps I had climbed  very many times, and there was the Gem Smith’s quarter.

Looking West; Looking Homeward?

We three set out for Tûm Escal, early in the morning, two days later. The journey was just under two hundred miles, but on mostly easy trails and under shade-giving trees.

And so it was that we slipped back into the familiar pattern of our day-to-day lives. But I noticed that Estarfin seemed a touch sad.

“We have waited for over six thousand years for this. I think taking a few weeks, a month to just enjoy being together is not a lot to hope for.”

Parnard gestured around the room. “There is space for dancing; we can push the table aside.” Then he went over to a side table filled with bottles of wine and opened the nearest.

The Return of the Rings: Part One

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

It was six days after our wedding. The guests from Celondim had returned home, Curumaito with a promise to visit again soon. Filignil had parceled up most of the remaining feast and was sending it to some of those who could not make the event. In this matter Captain Culufinnel was to be a major recipient, with enough to live on for a week. The weather had been kind to us, glorious sunny days and clear night skies were additional gifts. But by that evening it had begun to rain.

A Self Imposed Quest

Story

Yrill retreated to her rooms at dawn’s first light. It had been a merry few days, and an exceptional evening. She was content, more than content with the outcome. She was happy for her old mentor, Danel, and for Estarfin, whom she had come to know quite well by accompanying him and Captain Culufinnel in the search for Danel and Parnard, after they had been captured by Corsairs.

So now we addressed Marawendi as Miruviel. It was a pretty name, a Noldorin name. If it was her wish, we would honour it.

Parnard invited us to his house, for cake and wine. Now Miruviel was a budding cake expert. Filignil had taught her many cookery skills, but cake making was one she excelled at. It was no hardship to share the celebrations a little longer.

And the training continues...

We may be newly wed, but that is no excuse to become lax. We have never trained together regularly, partly because of our less than ideal experience in Imladris, over a dozen years ago. But now we both have something most precious in our lives, something to protect at all costs.

Estarfin has continued to train throughout the past few years, when he has not been fighting in ernest. Ceuro is his most closely matched opponent, although Filignil is prepared to spar with a sword or spear at times.
