Third Age, Enedwaith

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two distinct sounds pierce through the silent forest. On the distant shore of a flowing river, a Quenyan battle cry can be heard clearly. Ugly mutterings of the four yrch follow.

Then, a sharp scream. The silver-haired elf on the far shore pauses in his attacks, eyes wide in panic. Distracted by the scream, Ithilwe slips and falls to the ground, the bank slippery and wet.

Material Things

Story

There are many things that I love and have loved in this life.

One would be wine. I know not where I would be without this drink. Would I still be here? Probably not. It has seen me through the worst and best moments of my life.  Whether the color be red, white or anything in between. I wish for it all of the time.

Another would be books. Reading has always been my first love. There is little that can soothe me more than the knowledge gained through studying and perusing a large selection of books.

Family

Family is warm nights spent by the hearth, filled with stories and song. Family is mother and son lovingly braiding each other's hair. Family is a father reading the history of his people to his young son, perched upon his lap. Family is an unconditional love, one that is hard pressed to be broken.

Then, family becomes three young elves, naive and innocent, tears glimmering in their eyes. Family becomes a fight for survival. Family becomes hope for a new life.

"I thought we had more time."

There were fell voices on the air. Whispers that I could make no sense of. The wind was cold and biting against my skin. It howled and moaned in my ears, but still, the whispers were tangible. My feet cannot move through the snow. Is it snow? Is it something else? I cannot move.

Sleeping, Dreaming

What kind of Adventure is this?:
Story

When I fall asleep, I know not whether it will be dreamless, or whether I will see things, either joyful or horrifying. The unknown is something that makes me fearful. The thought of not knowing what will come to me in my dreams, presses me with anxiety.

But when I wake up, none of that will matter. For when I wake up, it is within his arms, or him within mine.

Together.

Now, I know that waking with him by my side is a given. No matter what comes in the night, he is there. And if he is not? I shall know that he has not gone far.
