Riders Four

          It took not the eyes of an Elf to behold the oncoming gloom, groping fingers of brown clouds reaching up over the edge of the world.

           Night descends upon Edoras as the sun dips beneath the edge of the world, watchfires and lamps beginning to shine in the gathering gloam.  From the main gate of the city, a road runs straight between two rows of mounds, seven upon the left hand, nine upon the right:  the Barrow Field, where sleep the kings of the Riddermark. 

Pledges Honored

Hytbold is now the site of the Witan, the gathering of the Thanes and Reeves of the Eastemnet of Rohan that will decide the course of the battle for the Riddermark.  The gathering is anything but civil, as words both heated and hateful fill the hall.  Voices call for action, and restraint; accusations fly of ambitions and suspicion; loyalties are declared and questioned.  The Witan is divided down the center wit

           Seregrían and the Riders Four have returned to Harwick, and rest one more day before departing for Cliving and their ongoing errantry.  As they gather for a shared meal at the Harwick tavern, they are joined by Caeorwulf, who has bitter news to relate.  At the will of Lord Harding, he shall rejoin the errand-riders and ride north to Wildermore as planned.      

             Cliving is a well-fortified town seated on bluffs overlooking the rolling plains of the Eastfold, and is the seat of Athelward, the Reeve of the Norcrofts, a man who by all accounts is reeling from his recent widowing.  Other accounts speak not only of the despondent Reeve, but the surge of villagers seeking the safety of the walls, flying from the bands of orcs and wolves c

            Seregrían and the Riders Four have passed out of the moors of the Wold and entered the region of Rohan known as the Eastfold, a vast plain of rolling hills dotted by settlements and farms known as crofts.  The lands are sparsely settled, with the folk of Rohan living in a few towns protected by wooden palisade walls.  The land divides into the Norcrofts and the town of

            Seregrían has recovered from her recent encounter with the Nazgul, and her healing of Caeorwulf.  The Riders Four, who now count her warmly in their company, have urged her to accompany them on their continued trek across the lands of Rohan, raising the alarm and striking wherever their enemies gather.  The party of six depart Floodwend and ride north to return to Harw
