It started a beautiful bright morning. Berandon was up early and the first thing he did was to check the mailbox.

He realized that he would never manage to persuade them to get his three hundred gold coins back. They were lost forever. Weeping, Berandon jumped up into the window, hid among the moon beams and vanished.

However, one cold night, the elderly man and his colleagues surprised Berandon as the elf was whispering commands into the ear of the sleeping young woman.

But finally, Berandon thought he had gotten the estate agent’s fiancée on the right track. At least she had taken to wander around in circles in front of the agency when she was not otherwise occupied during the day.

Sneaking into the rooms of the estate agent’s associates was laughably simple. Men slept heavily and noisily at night. Best of all, they did seem to remember missives whispered into their ears when they slept.

In addition the strong blueberry juice had stained his lips and gums a most unbecoming black. And he had no money with which to travel or laundry. Berandon wept in despair. He would have to continue his journey out of the sight of others or die of shame.

The ship finally floundered into harbour and the elf snuck out under the cover of the night. Strengthened from a few gulps of blueberry juice, Berandon was now determined to get his money back from the young real estate agent. During his long time in the suitcase he had had ample opportunity to put his claim into words.

The time inside the suitcase was terrible and all Berandon had to eat were the last two bottles of blueberry juice. He was thrown and jostled and jolted every which way but at least he was moving and getting down from the mountains.
