And we arrived early in the afternoon. The last part of our ride was an easy one. I had a sense of coming home, though I was uncertain how Estarfin felt beyond his stated wish to be by the Sea again.

It was my hope these small halls, on the outer edges of the declining town, would give us space and sanctuary from much that had gone before. But as Estarfin said 'A war is coming'. Likely our 'sanctuary' would be a temporary one.

With a face like stone, the red-clad lady accepts the paper lantern. The craftsman looks at her expectantly. His answer is an ice-cold glare: "Turn around. Go uh... go gather more wax or something. Scram!" He is dumbfounded, the poor sod. Not knowing how to react, he does as he is told and scurries down the pier. 

She turns around and kneels by the river. The mask slips.

"Ai, melethron nîn, Callon nîn... goheno nin..."*

As the sun rose, Loth-i-Lonnath and friends, ended the mid-winter celebration of Rhîw Dú-o Aglor Elin with good cheer and returned to their homes.

As dawn approaches, Hiril Lothoniel of Loth-i-Lonnath, addresses the crowd of merry makers one last time before they all return to their homes.

Rhîw Dú-o Aglor Elin, an elven mid-winter event, celebrated the stars and the works of Elbereth with wine, music and dancing all through the dark night.

Music, songs and poems are shared here from Loth-i-Lonnath and friends at Rhîw Dú-o Aglor Elin. Everyone was welcome to share and take center stage to express their admiration of the starry night and the works of Elbereth.

Once Loth-i-Lonnath and friends arrive at the stage area of Celondim, Hiril Lothoniel speaks to all saying, "S: Greetings friends…fair people of the Falas, noble Noldorin, loving people of the stars. Welcome and be merry this night; the Winter Night of Brilliant Stars at last!"  This is where much merry making began with wine, music and poems.
