As a young lass, Hevva Brandybuck was great friends with Judicea Took. They were inseperable and frequented every festival, ball and party between Buckland and Tuckborough together. That is until the day they met a charming Shirriff from the Southfarthing, one Barrodoc Spudplucker.

Both lasses were smitten with the handsome young Fallohide. Competition for his affections grew bitter and their friendship turned into one of the great rivalries of the age. Poor Barrodoc had even more to worry about as his family wanted a match with the Tooks, though secretly his heart favoured Hevva.

This terrible awkward situation endured for years until one day Hevva could stand it no more. At the Free Fair of 1343 (S.R.) she forced Barrodoc to choose between her and Judicea. He chose Hevva and they were wed the same day, with all their friends and family at the fair in attendance.

Through gritted teeth Judicea Took wished them well, but her heart was forever broken. She and Hevva came to an agreement to avoid bumping into each other too often, and dredging up ill feelings. The fair was at the Party Tree on The Hill and they drew the line there. Hobbiton would be neutral ground. Judicea would stay to the west and moved to Michel Delving, later to become the town bard.

Hevva Spudplucker stayed to the east and set up home with Barrodoc in Buckland. There they raised several children and enjoyed many grandchildren in turn, although Barradoc sadly passed peacefully from this world several years ago. Brandy Hall has become very crowded in recent times and to make room for the next generation of Brandybucks, Hevva has moved the family south to her late husbands old home in Elderglen.
