A compilation of stories and events relating to the business expansion of Atgar Smokehand of Durin’s Folk into Pickadean village of Bree.
Chronicle Content
Pickdean village, located to the south of the town of Bree on the road to Cardolan of old, was a vibrant trade hub, which was looted and destroyed during the War of the Ring by brigands. Its former inhabitants are now refugees, and its markets, houses and shops turned to rubble and ash, consumed by the fires of war.
But the war is now over and the time has come to start rebuilding what was lost. As such, the Town Council and the Mayor of Bree have started an initiative to draw interested parties and investors alike, to help fund and rebuild the village.
Offering reduced acquisition taxes for several months for those purchasing property in Pickdean, they hope to fuel economic growth in Bree and spark a new interest in Pickdean. Surely, a renewed trade hub so close to Bree would facilitate a boom in trade and travelers, and of course more opportunities for taxes and profits.
Atgar Smokehand of Durin’s Folk is one of the many Dwarf merchants and craftsmen visiting or trading in Bree, and where coin and trade are involved, they always draw the attention of Dwarves. Atgar had plans to expand his cooking business into Bree for some time now, but the right moment hadn’t come up so far.
