#dwarves

A few days later Byl and Kandral sat at the table in the Strongbeard vast study which smelled of old parchment, Ereborian leather and Southfarthing pipeweed. 

As Kandral sat down and discussed the finer points of the agreement with the guards, he thoughtfully stroked his beard. After a while he got back up and paced up and down the little chamber, still uttering the various demands he thought of on the spot. Suddenly he heard screams from the main chamber, at first faint, but he knew these would get louder, quickly. 

Kandral clutched his chest "What is going here, my daughter... Get out of that dwarf’s arms this minute!!! How dare you interact with a boy!!! You have spoiled my honour and you dare approach my house in the arms of an unworthy dwarf! How dare you?”

Ullfar crept as close as he could to hear out Hilfar’s tale, the fate of the geode and the accusation against him. "Are they mad? Locking us up like petty Dwarrows. How can Lord Dwalin even approve of this .. this.. ". 

Hilfar stood up and looked the judge straight in the eye "Not guilty, my lord."
Byli stood beside him and also said "Not guilty, your majesty, um...Worship."

Byl sighed and pushed the plate away from him. It had been a long day. 
He had hoped he might have heard word of Byli in Runulf's but no one had seen the lad.
