[This letter, delivered first to Maddoct with the intent he carry it on to Dimheim, consists of several sheets densely packed with small writing.

[From the direction of the Brandywine, a black shape flies over Bree-town... a rotund shape, it could be called, though with great offense given to its owner, Mänik of the Iron Hills, whose distinguished pedigree can be traced back to the first Rookery of Grór, he'd have you know.

Letter 8: Still in mountain.

His youngest son child to Bóurr Bíldul of Erebor greeting.

I write again from Thorin’s Hall, though I hoped that by now it would be from Bree-land. Yet our plans keep churning about, such that it seems I may never plant my feet solidly upon them. If I am yet in mountain when the decoration for the Solstice has begun I am like to actually weep, though thankfully I do not believe that will come to pass.

Been a while where I weren't goin' so often to the Pony on account there was supper waitin' for me back home, now Lumina lives there with me, but she been away a little while now doin' some business of her own -- not sure what, maybe her healer work. So I'm back to having supper at the Pony most nights, and sometimes lunch too, and so I been seein' other folk, which has been nice.

Story

The Halls of Mandos

Aging rapidly, Yurri had been invited by Miss Kithri to spend his final days in her home, of dwarven make, just a stone's throw away from the hall of Thorin. She took good care of him, and many of his kin did come to give him company. Still, as the days and weeks passed them all by, Yurri's condition steadily worsened. Now, it was time for him to bid farewell to Middle-Earth.

Letter 7: Again in mountain.

[It makes its way over the Misty Mountains slow. Sent to Bree-land originally, it must be forwarded, and it arrives in Ered Luin only after Durin's Day.

The script is hard to read; it was not dictated but written by hand in a shaky, meandering wise. Harder it would be to decipher, with its blotches and trails, if the reader was not so familiar with the original hand.]

The feast was hosted by Morengwen who made sure her guests were well fed with the finest the vale had to offer and also wine from the fabled cellars of Imladris. Many of the guests took turns to entrace those in attendance with their music and song.
