Chapter II - A brace of woodchuck

We've taken up a suitable place on the hill overlooking the village. We have little need for the comforts of the small burrow but one of the locals has given us free reign on his land which was most welcome. I understand he has some connections up at the Hall, a fine tailor by all accounts. From there we can watch the gate and the surrounds and as far back as the Hall which can be clearly seen even on the dullest of mornings.

Chapter I – Strangest is the news that comes unexpectedly

First that letter from the Hall and now some unexpected news. That business was a long time ago and it would have been best had it remained firmly in the past. Still, whatever my feelings about it the urgency was only too clear. I do wonder about this new fellow... probably nothing more than a coincidence but the link to the Old Fox troubles me greatly. Something is not like it ought to be here... but what exactly?
